Day 1: Themed and Quirky Hotels

Mandalay Bay and the Delano

Our Vegas hotel adventure begins at Mandalay Bay and its extra tower, the Delano. The Delano has a unique Cheesecake Factory vibe, with its stylized decor and giant rocks that are 700 million years old in the lobby. The Delano consists of all suites, providing spacious and well-equipped accommodations.

Just steps away from the Delano is the main hotel, Mandalay Bay. Mandalay Bay offers a variety of attractions, including a wave pool, lazy river, and the popular Shark Reef Aquarium. During our stay, we had the opportunity to dine at Michael Mina’s STRIPSTEAK restaurant and indulge in a delicious meal.

The Luxor

Next on our list is the Luxor, a giant pyramid-shaped hotel that is truly impressive and cavernous. The Luxor room offers serviceable accommodations with some quirks, such as angled windows and black wrapping on the building. This hotel is known for its casinos, restaurants, bars, shows, and exhibits, including the Titanic exhibit. We even had a chance to grab lunch at the Luxor food court, specifically at Johnny Rockets.

The Excalibur

Our journey continues to the Excalibur, a themed hotel centered around King Arthur and the medieval era. The Excalibur offers unique medieval decor and attractions, such as a jousting show. While the experience at the Excalibur was enjoyable, we also explored other hotels during our stay, including New York-New York, Park MGM, and NoMad.

New York-New York

New York-New York brings a taste of the Big Apple to Las Vegas with its rollercoaster and a replica of a New York City street. As we explored the hotel, we were transported to a mini New York City, complete with iconic landmarks and famous streets.

Park MGM and NoMad

Park MGM offered a luxurious and smoke-free experience with a green and tranquil atmosphere. The hotel had a modern vibe and provided a comfortable and well-designed room. The NoMad, located inside the Park MGM, was a hidden gem with a 1920s whiskey lounge theme. The NoMad provided a unique and intimate experience, perfect for those looking for something different.

During our stay at these hotels, we discovered that each had its own level of cleanliness and theming. While the Excalibur provided a fun and themed experience, Park MGM and NoMad offered a more enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Day 2: Sleek and Modern Hotels

Waldorf Astoria

Day 2 of our Vegas hotel adventure brought us to the sleek and modern hotels on the Strip. First on our list was the Waldorf Astoria, a luxurious hotel with marble and upscale amenities. The Waldorf Astoria provided a high-end experience with its elegant decor and attention to detail.

The Aria

Next up was the Aria, a hotel with a confusing decor but an abundance of activities. The Aria offers a casino, famous restaurants, and a mall, making it a prime location for entertainment. Despite its confusing decor, the Aria provided comfortable and well-designed hotel rooms, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The Cosmopolitan

Our journey along the sleek and modern hotels of the Strip ended at the Cosmopolitan. This hotel had a strong nightlife and partying atmosphere, with a glitzy and glamorous vibe. We explored various areas of the Cosmopolitan, including a secret ski lodge bar, a chandelier bar, and several restaurants. The hotel rooms at the Cosmopolitan were comfortable and well-designed, providing a luxurious experience.

Day 3: Famous Casinos

The Bellagio

On our third day, we focused on visiting famous casinos on the Vegas Strip. Our first stop was the Bellagio, known for its beautiful interior, blown glass ceiling, and botanical garden. While the common areas of the Bellagio were stunning, the room itself did not match the same level of luxury.

Caesars Palace and Nobu Hotel

Next on our list was the classic casino, Caesars Palace, with its Roman-themed decorations. Caesars Palace offers multiple towers for nicer rooms, including the luxurious Nobu Hotel. The Nobu Hotel provides a Japanese-inspired experience, with lavish and high-quality accommodations.

The Mirage

The Mirage brings a tropical island theme to Las Vegas and is famous for its distinctive scent. During our stay at the Mirage, the room was satisfactory but not as nice as previous visits. However, the hotel’s unique theme and offerings made up for any shortcomings in the room.

Treasure Island

Last but not least, we visited Treasure Island, a pirate-themed hotel with a promising exterior. However, the interior lacked a cohesive pirate theme. The room itself was solid but lacked any pirate-themed decor. Treasure Island also offered various non-theme related establishments, including Senor Frog’s and Gilly’s. The activity offerings at Treasure Island were somewhat random, featuring attractions like the Marvel Avenger Station.

Resorts World: Shiny and Modern

Our exploration of the Vegas Strip would not be complete without mentioning Resorts World. This newly opened hotel has a shiny and modern design, but it can be overwhelming and cacophonous. Resorts World is made up of three hotels operated by different subsidiaries of Hilton. However, there was a lawsuit against Resorts World for allegedly stealing the design from the Wynn hotel. Despite the controversy, Resorts World offers a unique and lively experience for visitors.

Circus Circus: Surprising Attractions

We cannot forget to mention Circus Circus, a hotel that may have a negative perception, but also offers surprising attractions. This hotel features a food court, shops, and even a circus act. The Adventure Dome at Circus Circus is an indoor theme park with various rides, providing entertainment for the whole family.

The Strat: Thrills and Views

Last but not least, we have the Strat hotel, known for its tall structure and thrilling attractions. The room at the Strat was clean and acceptable, although it is far from the rest of the Strip. One of the notable experiences at the Strat was trying a ride that no one else seemed to be doing. While it was initially unsettling, the ride provided unforgettable thrills. We then visited the rotating restaurant called Dinner at The Top Of The World, which offered a decent meal with a stunning view. From the top of the Strat, we were able to see all the hotels we had stayed at and the ones we planned to visit in the future.

Conclusion

Our experience staying at every hotel on the Vegas Strip was a wild adventure filled with unique themes, luxurious accommodations, and surprising attractions. From the themed and quirky hotels to the sleek and modern establishments, each hotel offered its own charm and experience. The famous casinos provided a glimpse into the glamorous Vegas lifestyle, while the newer additions to the Strip, like Resorts World, added a fresh and vibrant energy. Overall, our journey through the hotels of Las Vegas was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and discovery.
