In a recent video, author James Reeves recounts his frustrating experience at a famous Las Vegas hotel where his bags were searched and his personal handgun was confiscated. While he was eventually able to retrieve his gun at the end of his trip, the check-in/check-out process proved to be a lengthy and inconvenient ordeal. Reeves expresses his dissatisfaction with the hotel’s gun policy and asks readers if they would also be upset in the same situation. Additionally, he mentions gun and gear giveaways conducted by his program, emphasizing that they are not affiliated with YouTube and that his program takes full responsibility for them. Readers are encouraged to follow Reeves on social media and join the TFBTV chat room.

During his stay at the Venetian hotel, a popular destination on the Las Vegas strip, Reeves had his personal handgun confiscated despite possessing a concealed handgun permit recognized in Nevada. The hotel searched his bags and discovered two Glock 43X handguns. This prompted a lengthy process for Reeves to check in his gun at the hotel’s security desk, leading him to express frustration with the inconvenience and irrationality of the hotel’s gun policy. As an advocate for gun rights and responsible firearm ownership, Reeves shares his disappointment with the Venetian and suggests that they reconsider their policy. Despite the challenges he faced, Reeves remains committed to his love for Las Vegas and his annual trip to the city.

A Las Vegas Hotel Searched My Bags and Took My Gun

Am I being a tactical Karen about this or would you be pissed too? A hotel in Las Vegas searched my bags and held my gun. I got it back at the end of the trip, and I was told that I could “check it out” whenever I wanted (as long as I left the premises and “checked it in” when I returned), but this check-in/check-out process was such an absolute nightmare that it wasn’t worth doing. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Author’s Personal Handgun Confiscated by the Hotel

I have a concealed handgun permit recognized in Nevada, which allows me to legally carry a firearm. However, despite having this permit, my handgun was confiscated by the hotel where I was staying. It was frustrating to have my personal property taken away from me, especially when I had followed all the requirements and regulations. The fact that I possessed a legal permit should have been sufficient to allow me to keep my firearm while staying at the hotel. The lack of clear communication regarding the hotel’s firearm policies upon booking only added to my frustration. As someone who prioritizes safety and security, the confiscation of my gun made me question the hotel’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of their guests.

Bags Searched and Two Glock 43X Handguns Found

During the bag search process, the hotel staff discovered two Glock 43X handguns in my bags. This unexpected discovery surprised me, as I did not anticipate such thorough security measures by the hotel. While I understand the need for security, I questioned the necessity of searching personal bags for law-abiding individuals. I had followed all the necessary legal requirements and possessed the proper permits for carrying firearms. The fact that my bags were thoroughly searched, and my guns were confiscated made me question the trustworthiness of the hotel’s staff and raised concerns about my privacy.

Lengthy Process to Check in Gun at the Hotel’s Security Desk

Checking in a firearm at the hotel’s security desk turned out to be a complicated and time-consuming process. The detailed steps involved in checking in a firearm added additional delays and complications to my stay. Comparing this experience with other hotel policies concerning valuable items, such as jewelry or electronics, it became clear that the process for checking in a gun was much more cumbersome. As a responsible firearms owner, I believe that there should be a streamlined and efficient process for checking in firearms, just like any other valuable possession.

Author Expresses Frustration with the Inconvenience and Irrationality of the Hotel’s Gun Policy

The inconvenience and irrationality of the hotel’s gun policy were major sources of frustration for me. While I understand the need for security measures, it seemed excessive and unnecessary to confiscate my legally owned firearm. The hotel’s gun policy appeared to prioritize perceived safety over individual rights and freedoms. As a law-abiding citizen and responsible gun owner, I believe that my rights should be respected, and I should be allowed to exercise my Second Amendment rights within the bounds of the law. The hotel’s disregard for these rights left me feeling disappointed and disheartened.

Disappointment with the Venetian and Suggestion to Reconsider Their Policy

Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the Venetian’s handling of the situation. As a well-known and popular hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, I had high expectations for my stay. However, the experience of having my firearm confiscated and the subsequent difficulties in the check-in process left a sour taste in my mouth. I strongly urge the Venetian to reconsider their policy on firearms and find a more reasonable and accommodating approach. Not only does their current policy inconvenience law-abiding guests, but it also has the potential to negatively impact their reputation and customer satisfaction.

In conclusion, the experience of having a Las Vegas hotel search my bags and confiscate my gun was frustrating and disappointing. The fact that I possessed a legal concealed carry permit should have been sufficient to allow me to keep my firearm while staying at the hotel. The thoroughness of the bag search process and the lengthy check-in process for firearms added unnecessary complications and inconveniences to my stay. I hope that the Venetian and other hotels in Las Vegas reevaluate their firearm policies and consider a more reasonable and accommodating approach that respects the rights and freedoms of law-abiding gun owners.
